It is not the general consumer QR traceability scheme associated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), and it is not the separate Vietnam Forest Carbon / carbon-credit marketplace offering.

What is aGreen Traceability?

aGreen Traceability is the supply-chain traceability infrastructure within the aGreen Geo-Blockchain ecosystem. It is designed for agricultural and forestry value chains where where a product comes from, who owns it, how much exists, and how it moves between participants are all important.

Instead of treating traceability as a QR code attached only to a finished product, aGreen links the product to its underlying spatial identity, production events, commercial lots and ownership transfers. This creates a continuous digital chain from the source of production to the international and domestic market.

Plantation Unit Codes and production identity

For plantation-based commodities, traceability starts before a commercial product exists. aGreen can associate production with a defined Plantation Unit and its geographic boundary.

A Plantation Unit Code (PUC), including the Vietnamese Mã số vùng trồng (MSVT) concept where applicable, provides an important identity for the production area. The geo-fence and production records provide the spatial and operational context behind that identity.

This allows downstream participants to connect harvested material with the production area, cultivation history and supporting field evidence rather than relying only on a document or manually entered origin claim.

Packing facility identity

For commodities requiring controlled packing operations, the supply-chain record can also associate commercial lots with the relevant packing facility and its applicable Packing Facility Code / Mã số cơ sở đóng gói.

This creates a more complete chain of identity: production unit → harvested lot → processing or packing facility → commercial lot → export/import → distribution → retail → consumer.

How QR and GS1 fit into aGreen

QR codes provide a convenient interface for participants to access or transfer information, while the underlying aGreen infrastructure maintains the relationship between spatial identity, lots, ownership, inventory, processing and transactions.

Depending on the supply-chain model, a QR code can be used to initiate a purchase or ownership transfer, open a Digital Passport, or allow another participant to verify a commercial lot.

In GS1-enabled scenarios, standardized product identifiers and QR mechanisms can be used for commercial interoperability. This is particularly relevant at interfaces such as Exporter → Importer, where customs and international trade documentation require consistent product and shipment identification, and at Retailer → Consumer where consumers need a simple product-level access point.

A user can therefore think of the QR as the door to the digital record, rather than the traceability system itself.
